Deborah Preuss invited me to talk about the power of asking questions, which my work as a programmer, trainer, mentor and adviser forced me to discover, whether I wanted to or not. Without meaning to, I have managed to develop a reputation in some circles as a person who asks good questions at opportune moments, so it flattered me significantly for someone to ask me to share what I do, how I do it, and why it seems to help.

I apologize if you’d rather just read an article, but here you’ll find about 36 minutes of video in which Deborah and I discuss how questions speak louder than advice.
